Last stop at the edge of civilization

29 september 2014 - Nueva Loja, Ecuador

Wake up call in Quito. Time to do some preperations for the rest of the journey. We picked up electricity convertors for 25 cent each. Went to the bank and phone company and tanked a full tank for 14$.
Before we set off we had a wonderfull meal with my girlfriend parents who proved again that Ecuadorians are great hosts.
The drive was long and went trough various amazing landscapes and crossed several mountains. Hats off for my girlfriend who proved to be a very competent driver.
Six hour drive later we arrived at Neuva Loja. An old town build during the oil boom and the last piece of civilization before the Amazon region.
Tomorrow we are heading in and since it is not likely there is wifi there I will probably not be able to blog for a while. Hasta luego!
