Things I did in Ecuador that didn't kill me

24 oktober 2014 - Quito, Ecuador

I will be taking the plane soon however before I do I would like to recapitulate some of the great things I did here:
- Driving to the jungle by car: the road is long, small, goes trough mountains and plenty of people drive off the cliffs each year
- Swimming in a lake in the jungle that could potentially have piranhas, Anacondas in it and definitely has alligators in it
- Hunting alligators in the night in a boat: I never felt in danger but we came closer then 1m so best keep the hands in the boat
- Mountain-biking off the Cotopaxi, an active volcano from 4500m altitude: we did had a guide who had plenty of stories to tell about what accidents he saw happening. Yet we almost all got down without a scratch.
- Swimming with sharks: you never really know how you will react when you are eye in eye with a shark. My reaction was to swim towards it and take a picture
- Having an Anaconda in my neck: it was not one of the bigger ones and it actually felt pretty soft
- Mountain-biking the routes of waterfalls in Baños: while it was on a concrete road it was steep and shared with Ecuadorian cars who are not so used to bikers
- Using the swing of the Casa del arbol: 2500m high, going over a cliff without much safety. But a kid can do this right?
- Canyoning: with the highlight going off a 45m waterfall with a guide that spoke no English. Once you get over the fact it's a little dangerous it's
so much fun!
