Boots on the ground in Quitó!

Arrived in Ecuador on what was not only my longest flight so far, but also my most turbulent flight! Lucky the on board movies made the flight look so much shorter. I love klm.
We landed on the main airport 45 minutes in Quitó that lies on 3000m altitude. First impressions: sunny and surounded by mountains..or should I say vulcanoes?
After a 45 min drive we arrive at the appartement in North Quito where I meet the family of my girlfriend.
We catch up under some Ecuadorian/Belgian beers while we attempt to surpress the jetlag.
Bedtime is at 21.00 Ecuadorian time (GMT-6), after being awake for about 24 hours it is a well deserved rest because tomorrow we head for the Jungle.
